Location & Surroundings of the A-Frame Surf Camp in Andalusia
The A-Frame Surf & Yoga Camp is located on the Costa de la Luz, the 'Coast of Light' in Andalusia. This area is considered one of the warmest and driest coastal regions in Spain. With over 300 sunny days a year you will be spoiled by a mild climate even in winter. The proximity to Africa and the heritage of the Moors give this region a special cultural flair.
The south coast of Spain – like a dream come true
Our surf camp is located in El Palmar, a relaxed coastal town near Cadiz. El Palmar is considered one of the best surf spots for surfing in Andalusia. Here you will find almost year round consistent waves for all levels. But this is not the only reason why we chose Andalusia for our surf camp, there's so much more to this region waiting to be explored...
The nature is breathtakingly beautiful, the people friendly and the life here authentic and down to earth. Instead of mass tourism you will meet real locals and you can explore dreamy cities: Stroll around the whitewashed hilltop town of Vejer de la Frontera and enjoy the Spanish cuisine in one of it's boutique restaurants. Even closer is Conil de la Frontera, where you can explore some of the sights, cafés, shops or the beach.
You'll be happy here in El Palmar. This small beach town on the Atlantic coast of southern Spain has its own rhythm. There are several cafés, surf shops, restaurants and bars as well as small supermarkets. Otherwise it's quiet and undeveloped here. Untouched by mass tourism, you can enjoy the white sandy beaches, the bright sunshine and of course the good waves. Surfing in Europe can be so beautiful!
Conil de la Frontera
Conil de la Frontera is a five minute drive from El Palmar. This idyllic beach town with its whitewashed houses is typical of Andalusia. Fiesta is the order of the day in the many bars on the weekends and the local fish is excellent to eat in the numerous restaurants in Conil. There are several banks, larger supermarkets and surf shops. Our tip: walk there along the beach - from El Palmar it is only 45 minutes to Conil.
Vejer de la Frontera
Vejer de la Frontera is the landmark of the region, a spectacular but intimate typical Andalusian town perched on a hilltop. Many buildings and the old fortress walls are of Moorish origin. In a recent nationwide survey, Vejer was voted one of the most beautiful Spanish villages. In culinary terms, Vejer de la Frontera is a must with its variety of cosy and elegant restaurants. From El Palmar it only takes fifteen minutes by car. If you need recommendations for restaurants and sights in Vejer de la Frontera, just ask us. We know the insider tips and are happy to pass them on to our guests.
Occupied by the Moors, reconquered by the Europeans, famous as the departure port of Christopher Columbus - Andalusia has a rousing history. The region is the birthplace of flamenco and bullfighting, famous for its sherry, horses, fiery temperament, typical white villages and many breathtaking cities. There is so much to see away from thre beach including the famous cities of Seville, Tarifa, Cadiz, Vejer, Jerez or Granada.
